Voltron the video game

Don’t know why it took so long to get a Voltron video game out, but better late than never. The iconic 1980s galactic hero returns this fall in THQ’s Voltron: Defender Of The Universe video game. Infracells are up, mega thrusters are go and the legendary robot hero is ready to make his resurgence. In this brand-new take on the classic Voltron animated adventure, players will find themselves teaming up to battle the evil forces of King Zarkon across the varied landscapes of Planet Arus. Interwoven with clips from the original animated television series, the new game promises a re-mastered adventure in stunning high-definition.

Voltron fans can finally relive some of the most defining moments from the classic series, or even introduce a new generation of young Space Explorers, as they command any of the individual Lions or even team up to form Voltron and wield his epic blazing sword. Galactic peacekeepers may choose to play either online in seamless 1- to 5-player co-op or offline in 1- or 2-player co-op. Players will select a Lion based on a number of strengths, resistances and elemental attacks that they use to battle fierce Robeasts and a number of other familiar adversaries.

Voltron the video game is scheduled for release in October 2011 on Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network.

Mortal Kombat Legacy : Episode 7

Mortal Kombat Legacy : Episode 7

Director Kevin Tacharoen reveals more characters in Mortal Kombat Legacy Episode 7. Scorpion and Sub-Zero get the new Mortal Kombat treatment in the Japanese language episode. Hanzo Hasashi/Scorpion is played by Ian Anthony Dale, while Sub-zero is played by Kevan Ohtsji. Here’s a synopsis for Mortal Kombat Legacy : Episode 7:

Hanzo Hasashi, better known as the warrior Scorpion, is summoned to meet with the Shogun of Kumamoto Castle. While traveling, the fearless General of the Shirai Ryu clan encounters his mortal enemy, Sub-Zero. Scorpion realizes too late that this trap has led him away from his village and family, leaving them without means to defend themselves. He knows that he must defeat Sub-Zero and return to his village before it is too late.

Great to see director Kevin Tacharoen trying a English subtitled/Japanese language episode. It sets the tone for the series differently than if it were all English. He also makes it a family affair by bringing in his sister Maurussa Tacharoen to play Kana. This is a two part intro, so expect more Scorpion and Sub-Zero next week. In the words of one commenter “Dear Mortal Kombat Legacy – Ep.8: Scorpion and Sub Zero (Part 2)…..GET OVER HERE!!!”
