Just Kidding Films tackles rude Asian waiters in their latest sketch. Asian waiters are rude to us; but maybe we’re rude to them? Does speaking the language get you further in some restaurants? Look for cameos by comedian David So and Ally Maki.
A group of Asian Americans out in Chicago found that a majority of people don’t understand the process at bone marrow drives and think it involves needles or will be painful. They made this short video to entertain but also educate people on the process of joining the registry. All it takes is a 5 minute cheek swab to register into the Bone Marrow Registry and save a life.
Registering is simply signing up to be a potential donor, there is no actual donating occurring at the drive. If you are a match for somebody, they will contact you asking if you would like to go through with the actual procedure. Your 5 minute cheek swab could help someone like Janet Liang.

Actor George Takei took part in a PSA for “The Remembrance Project”. On February 19, 1942, President Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066 which instigated unfair indignities and injustice for over 285,000 people of Japanese ancestry residing in the U.S. and abroad, including unlawful removal from their homes and unconstitutional abridgment of their rights.
In 2012, as we mark the 70th anniversary of this historic event, the Japanese American National Museum is launching its newest initiative, the Remembrance Project. This online project encourages individuals and families to remember their history and to pay tribute to the unique experiences of family members, friends, and other individuals affected by the signing of E.O. 9066 and World War II. It’s a pioneering effort to build a permanent “living museum” online featuring the stories of those whose lives were forever changed.
George Takei gives his first hand account of his experience being taken to an internment camp.

Actress Sandra Oh is in a PSA on the North Korean Refugee Adoption Act. This Act (H.R. 1464 and S. 416) would make it easier to adopt refugee children and reduce waiting time for adopting refugee children. Your support is crucial in encouraging members of Congress to pass this bill.
The North Korean Refugee Adoption Act, if passed, would allow Americans to adopt refugee orphans who have fled the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to neighboring countries such as Mongolia, Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries. These children are struggling in harsh circumstances, and run the risk of being sent back to DPRK. According to the World Food Program, DPRK faces regular food shortages, and one in three North Korean children under five are chronically malnourished.
