Rock Jocks teaser & 2011 Comic-con panel

Rock Jocks teaser & 2011 Comic-con panel

We told you about the indie film Rock Jocks a few months ago. Over the weekend in Chicago, fans got a chance to get a sneak preview of the ROCK JOCKS teaser trailer and participate in a Q&A discussion with the filmmakers. The movie features Justin Chon (Twilight series) as Seth, Kevjumba aka Kevin Wu as Danny, and Gerry Bednob as Tom. It’s being positioned as Clerks in Space. Here’s more about the film:

Imagine asteroids so large that they can wipe out all life on the planet constantly bombarding the Earth. The only things standing in the way are the Rock Jocks, a top-secret band of government employees, who pilot asteroid-killing satellites. The story takes place during a Rock Jocks night shift. Though they are there to fight off asteroids, they spend most of the night fighting off boredom, themselves, and the occasional meddling government bureaucrat hell-bent on cutting their department’s budget.

Currently in post-production, Rock Jocks is scheduled for 2012 theatrical release. Other stars in movie including Felicia Day (The Guild), Jason Mewes (Clerks), Doug Jones (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth) and Robert Picardo (Star Trek: Voyager, Stargate SG-1). The film is written and directed by Paul Seetachitt.

If you just want to see the teaser, go to the 6:45 mark on the first video below. The content is very rated R.

A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas with John Cho, Kal Penn, and Neil Patrick Harris

After years of growing apart, Harold Lee and Kumar Patel have replaced each other with new friends and are preparing for their respective Yuletide celebrations. But when a mysterious package mistakenly arrives at Kumar’s door on Christmas Eve, his attempt to redirect it to Harold’s house ends with the “high grade” contents — and Harold’s father-in-law’s prize Christmas tree — going up in smoke. With his in-laws out of the house for the day, Harold decides to cover his tracks, rather than come clean. Reluctantly embarking on another ill-advised journey with Kumar through New York City, their search for the perfect replacement tree takes them through party heaven — and almost blows Christmas Eve sky high.

When SYLVIA cannot banish the ghost, she is forced into a patient/therapist relationship with EMILY as they work together to try to move EMILY on to “the next place”.

The role of Emily is played by Anna Ishida, while Sylvia is portrayed by Jeannie Barroga. Learn more about supporting the film here. If everything goes to plan, expect to see the movie release in the early part of January 2012. BTW – H.P. Mendoza is also the writer for Yes, We’re Open, which is also looking for funding.

Director Jennifer Thym partners up again with her key creative team from her acclaimed webseries LUMINA to produce a new fantasy action film, Bloodtraffick. The 11 minute action short film serves both as a standalone film and a prequel for a feature film with a distinct gritty Hong Kong feel and influenced by modern action & horror films as well as videogames.

Set in a world torn by a war between vampires and angels, Bloodtraffick features the human vigilante Ava, played by Grace Huang, who stars with Russell Crowe, the RZA, and Daniel Wu in the upcoming Eli Roth-produced action film The Man With the Iron Fists, pitted against the vampire Finn, played by Kirt Kishita.

Look for the short to come to a film festival near you.
