ISA LA 2009 concert video

Wong Fu Productions and Far East Movement collaborated on their third ISA within the span of 1 year. (Check out the previous International Secret Agent concerts : ISA LA 2008 and ISA SF 2009). Over Labor Day weekend as few weeks back, about 1,400 fans descended on San Gabriel to check out the ISA LA 2009 concert lineup, which included KevJumba, Bruno Mars, GLP (Gabe Bondoc, Leejay, Passion), David Choi, Kina Grannis, Quest Dance Crew, Wong Fu Productions, Far*East Movement, host Lydia Paek and Tom Ngo, and special guest Cassie.

2009 ID Film Fest

The second annual ID Film Fest, a festival dedicated to contemporary digital films that explore and celebrate identity within the diverse Asian/Pacific Islander community, will present an international and local line-up of films Thursday, Oct. 1 through Saturday, Oct. 3. The films will be a mix of ground breaking Asian American films from 1997 (Yellow, Shopping with the Fangs) as well as North American Premieres of Hong Kong Indie films and Japanese American Shorts. The films will be showcased at the Japanese American National Museum’s state of the art Democracy Forum in the National Center for the Preservation of Democracy, located at 111 N. Central Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Get more details here.

Follow Your Whim Tour

Goh Nakamura and the Invisible Cities bought the JetBlue $599 all-you-can-fly pass special. They started booking show and conceived on a whim, the Follow You Whim Tour. The tour will take two San Francisco-based acts (and their roadies) through Los Angeles, Houston, Austin, Seattle, Chicago, and New York city, playing venues, living rooms, and public spaces. We’re impressed that they put the whole tour and website together within weeks. Very impressive. We wonder if JetBlue is gonna make it their official tour.

2009 FPAC in Los Angeles

If you’re in Southern Califronia this weekend, check out the 2009 Festival of Philippine Arts & Culture (FPAC). It’s the largest presenter of Philippine arts and culture in Southern California presenting over 1200 artists in 9 disciplines and attracting over 25,000 audience members from all over the country. The event will be held at Pt. Fermin Park in San Pedro on September 12-13, 2009. Some of the artists that will be there include Bambu (Crooks & Rooks and Quit), Rocky Rivera (MRSHMLO), Geologic from Blue Scholars (HI-808 and Coffee and Snow), Deep Foundation (Children of the Sun and Sleep), Supreme Soul, Ashley Robles, and more.
