2012 Spring YTF Concert Tour

The YTF crew is going on a West Coast tour next week. You just might get a chance to meet your favorite YouTube stars. YTF is comprised of the biggest celebrity entertainers from YouTube and the social networking world. Led by Asian Americans Ryan Higa (aka “NigaHiga”) and Kevin Wu (aka “KevJumba”), two of YouTube’s biggest personalities, these new media stars have developed a live concert show that takes elements from their hugely successful online channels and creates a unique entertainment experience for fans. YTF also features Victor King (Quest Crew member, winner of MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew); Chester See (musician/songwriter, former host of Disney Channel’s Disney 365); Dominic Sandoval (aka “D-Trix”), currently a judge on America’s Best Dance Crew, and finalist on ABC’s So You Think You Can Dance); Andrew Garcia (singer/performer and American Idol semi-finalist); and JR Aquino (singer/songwriter and American Idol semi-finalist).

YTF was conceived by its members as a way to collaborate artistically and interact with fans around the world in an intimate, exciting way never before experienced. YTF’s mission is to not only entertain, but to share the group’s personal message of empowerment. The philosophy behind YTF – Yesterday, Today, Forever – is that success and happiness in one’s life start with individual choice: Yesterday is in the past. Today you have a choice. Forever is up to you. With this message, YTF has created a live show featuring singing, dancing and sketch comedy that carries a hip, wholesome and positive vibe that the entire family will enjoy. THE GROOVE SALON
SFIAAFF has long celebrated the contributions of Asian American artists to the fabric of musical life. In the Groove Salon, we bring together two Directions in Sound artists to go beyond performance to talk life and shop. Hear DJ Neil Armstrong and HOTTUB meet up in conversation/collaboration to create a song with the audience. They are from different parts of a musical spectrum but both are innovative musicians that challenge the boundaries of hip-hop. During the salon, they will play samples of their work, speak about their experiences as musicians, and give the attendees a taste of the creative process. This is a participatory event, so come prepared to ask questions and contribute to the song!

Featuring:
DJ NEIL ARMSTRONG // (previously described)
HOTTUB // LeHeat Records / Members: Coco Machete-vox, Ambr33zy-vox, LoliPop-vox, Jaysonik-producer, Funky Finger Mark-keyboards
Oakland based quintet HOTTUB has been busting out jams since 2005. HOTTUB draws from dancehall, punk, Miami Bass and girl group pop to create their hype sound, and their live show is full of crowd antics, makeshift slip & slides and tricked out, thrift-store-fabulous outfits.
