The Top 10 contestants and guest judges Dominic “Dtrix” Sandoval, Andrew Garcia, Mystery Guitar Man, David Fickas, Brice Beckham, and Kassem G join judges Ryan Higa and Christine Lakin along with fans to celebrate the season and reveal the first ever “INTERNET ICON”. The contestant talk about their time on the show, the ups and downs, and more. The Top 2 contestants (Lana McKissack and Brothers Riedell) show the final videos to determine who will be the Internet Icon. Viewers decided, so see who will be crowned the champion.
The CMF Distinguished Filmmakers Network (DFN) and Lenovo have launched the “Seize the Night” Alternate Ending Challenge. DFN members produced alternate endings to Lenovo’s short “Seize the Night” video (beginning around when the enter button is pushed on the Ultrabook). The alternate ending with the most views by September 9, 2012 wins US $15,000. Several talented Asian American filmmakers are in the mix for the finals: Kelly Li, Anthony Bui, and Lanly Le. The top entrants received production budgets to visually capture the essence of Lenovo’s latest ultra-thin and ultra-light Ultrabook devices. Check out the final entries below.

Anthony was born and raised in Los Angeles, so it seemed like destiny that he’d end up in the film industry. After deciding from a young age that he wanted to pursue the visual arts, he crafted a road to USC where he studied film production. Upon graduating, Anthony immediately began working on building his portfolio by shooting promos, commercials, and music videos for both local talent and corporations. He’s worked with the largest content creators on Youtube, Maker Studios, and has numerous viral videos to show for it. Although shooting branded content for the likes of Tide, Intel, and Panasonic have also been great, his passion is to direct feature films–something he hopes to do soon.

The Top 3 Internet Icon contestants (FU music, Lana McKissack, and Brothers Riedell) compete in “The Guest Star Challenge”. In the biggest challenge so far, the contestants have 5 hours to shoot and edit a skit/sketch video using guest celebrity Damien Dante Wayans (chosen by the judges) as well as all 4 of the actors from the ICONography Wall. Additionally, they must shoot and edit a Vlog video along with a music-based video. That’s three videos in one day. Who has what it takes to take it to the finish line? They’ve got to be a well-rounded Internet Icon.
The Top 5 Internet Icon contestants compete in “The Judges’ Choice Challenge” where they have 5 hours to shoot and edit a video based on a topic chosen by the judges. The topics include: making a horror film (Dayside Productions), a silent video (Team Morgan), a video with one continuous take (The FU), an instructional video (Brothers Riedell), and a character-driven video made documentary style (Lana McKissack). The Internet Icon’s top 7 finalists complete their third challenge, the props challenge. They have 5 hours to shoot and edit a video using the following props: a hula hoop, a banana peel, a twinkie, a wig, and a rubber ducky. The contestants videos will be judged by Ryan Higa, Christine Lakin, and guest judge Mystery Guitar Man. Keep your eyes on Dayside Productions, Fu Music, and Lana McKissack.
