Everything they wore was from JC Penney as part of the promotional contest for the upcoming 2009 International Secret Agents in Los Angeles. Get more info about the contest here. You have less than two weeks to crank out a video for the ISA LA 2009 competition.

It’s a back to school collabo Wong Fu Productions x Far East Movement x David Choi. Watch as FM and David Choi give you tips for school as they’re decked out in JC Penney gear. Use the tips in the video with caution. Our favorite tip was about the healthy lunch – Prohgress from FM munching on a head of lettuce.


Seems like JC Penney really wants to reach the Asian American audience. Last year, they had the Get that Look campaign with Asian YouTubers. That’s the same campaign that had David Choi x Kina Grannis for the song My Time With You.

This year JC Penney is going bigger by sponsoring ISA LA 2009 and having a contest for it too. You have an opportunity to win ISA tickets as well as plane tickets to LA for ISA. Get details on how to enter here. Interestingly enough, virtually everyone in the “Get that Look” campaign will be at International Secret Agents: Los Angeles 2009 this year.

2009 Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival Trailer Contest

The 2009 Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival (PAAFF) is looking for filmmakers (Asian & non-Asian) of all levels to participate in the PAAFF trailer contest, which runs until September 6th, 2009. Judges include music video and documentary film director Todd Angkasuwan (music videos for Snoop Dogg, Far East Movement & many more), producer Philip Lam (Santa Mesa & Undoing) and Cliff Song, representing sponsor HBO.

The Grand Prize winner will receive a cash prize and a pair of All Access Passes to PAAFF and the winning entry will be screened during the film festival and on this website. Finalists will receive a pair of All Access Passes to the festival. Get more details here.

Paper Heart Movie poster contest

For those artistically inclined, Paper Heart has movie poster contest. Entries must express the theme “What Does Love Mean To Me?” and include the title “Paper Heart” and the information “In select theaters August 7”. More details about the contest can be found here. The 2nd Annual Miss Asian American Colorado (Miss AACO for short) was crowned at the end of May 2009. The event serves as a leadership program to highlight and develop leaders among the Colorado region. The contestants endure 2 months of leadership training, networking events, and civic engagement with us, and ultimately show their leadership, service, and individuality in a pageant. The pageant is shaped to break away from traditional norms of outer beauty and image. This is something entirely new and is booming in the Colorado APA community. Some of the service projects include bone marrow drives (like Project Michelle and Nick Glasgow)and Habitat for Humanity
