Giant Robot’s 8 bit video game car

Giant Robot's 8 bit video game car

The folks over at Giant Robot modified a Scion into a video game car inspired by the 8-bit Nintendo Famicom system. The pop doors on the car have round red push buttons like arcade games and make various Super Mario Brother sounds when opened and closed. Not only is it a vehicle, but it also doubles as a game system. The “key” is a special game cartridge powers the car and makes sound when put in or taken out. To start the car, you need to push a red game button. The seat belt clamps double as game controllers, while the front headlights offers a projection of the game. The rear of the vehicle has a different projection system. The interior has seats inspired by the Activision color scheme, while the exterior is designed to look like a game controller with the wheels looking like buttons.

This was part of the Pixel Pushers exhibit.

He submitted one of the four winning entries to get the main prize, which included a tour of where and how the Chevy Volt gets made. Yesterday, the 25 year old from Berkeley also got the San Francisco Bay Area’s first 2011 Chevy Volt and the 10th off the Detroit assembly line. Patrick Wang is pretty passionate about his new electric vehicle. He’s even started a website about it here.

Kia Soul hamsters in Korea

Kia Soul hamsters in Korea

Remember the Kia Soul Hamster commercial earlier this year? Well the CGI hamsters came to life in Korea. They drop by a local home plus store to spread some hamster love. Not only do these cute and fuzzy animals bring smile to customers, but they also show off some of their b-boy moves right in the market. These hooded creatures brought their crew and start breaking right in the middle of the shop. Afterward, they finish the day shopping and filling up the trunk of their Kia Soul.

The hamster costumes and mask were created from scratch. Even the hamster shopping cart was custom made. They also do a lot of b-boy practice before the event. Behind the scenes of Kia Soul hamsters in Korea

Toyota Rollercoaster commercial

Toyota Rollercoaster commercial

We keep seeing this Toyota ad on YouTube. Check out this commercial featuring an Asian dad with his daughter as part of the “Ideas for Good” campaign. What if we used the Hybrid Synergy Drive to create the world’s first self-sustaining amusement park? The cutest part is the little girl in the back seat saying “Daddy! I’m four.” She’s as cute as Kylie in the Microsoft commercials.
