David Choi Northeastern Tour

David Choi got the endorsements of some of the top male Asian American Youtubers for his Northeastern Tour including the guys from Wong Fu Productions, KevJumba, and Ryan Higa. So why should you go? Cuz it’s gonna be awesome!!

The tour starts in mid/late February hitting Virginia, New York City, Philadelphia, Boston, Toronto, and Chicago. Get full details here. We’re pretty sure you’ll hear the song “Won’t Even Start” on tour. Get out there and support David Choi.

Wong Fu Productions 2009 Autumn Tour

Wong Fu Productions is going on their 2009 Autumn Tour. They’re mostly hitting the East Coast including Boston, New Jersey, Maryland, Philly, Connecticut, and Virginia. Also a few stops in Texas and Indiana. Check them out if Wong Fu Productions is going to be at your school. For the full schedule, go here. These guys usually show new stuff they have posted online.

Vigils for Laura Ling and Euna Lee





Today, nationwide vigils for Asian American journalists Laura
Ling and Euna Lee
will be held. The two U.S. journalists, who work for San
Francisco-based Current TV – a media venture founded by former Vice
President Al Gore, were arrested March 17 near the North Korean border
while reporting on refugees living in China. Both women, accused by North
Korea of crossing into the country illegally from China and committing
“hostile acts,” will be tried on criminal charges on June 4th. Lisa Ling has hit the airwaves this week with appearances on the Today Show, Larry King, and Nightline in a plea for their safe return.

The organizers of the vigils hope to help influence a positive outcome for
Laura and Euna. Please show your support and join us in their fight for
freedom!

Boston Asian American Film Festival

Boston Asian American Film Festival (BAAFF) presented by Asian American Resource Workshop (AARW) will host the most ambitious Boston Asian American film festival from October 18th through the 26th. The festival includes 20 films and videos, 13 of which will be Boston premieres; 9 screening events; 8 venues; 7 of the filmmakers will be in attendance; and 19 community presenting partners.
