For The People by Mondega : exclusive channelAPA.com first look

Mondega - For the People

channelAPA.com is bringing you an exclusive look at Bom “Mondega” Siu’s new LP, “For The People,” which is set to release October 1, 2010.

Coming out of Raleigh, North Carolina, Mondega is an underground hip-hop artist whose music is well acclaimed by human- rights activists, universities and Asian youths throughout the United States, Canada, and Southeast Asia. As an up-coming and influential emcee, his music is described as uplifting and inspiring. Mondega uses hip-hop as a tool to speak on behalf of the misguided Asian youths living in America and for his people suffering back home in Southeast Asia. His music is well-respected because it empowers and raises awareness about issues rarely spoken about in today’s Asian hip-hop scenes.

His overall goal is to reach out to everyone who can relate, and empower them through peace, understanding, philosophies and hip-hop. Mondega speaks the truth in the purest format with creative melodies, catchy hooks, and self-reflecting lyrics.

Mondega’s forthcoming LP, For the People, is his third and most personal album to date.

The Hunted EP by Connie Lim

The Hunted EP by Connie Lim

Just recently, LA-based singer-songwriter Connie Lim released The Hunted EP, a 7-track album.  The tracks are completely remastered and flow incredibly smoothly with Connie’s amazing vocals.  Influenced by artists like Imogen Heap, Zero7, Feist, Morcheeba, Portishead, Natalie Merchant, Nina Simone and Bill Withers, Connie creates a different genre of what she calls “retrotronica”: a blend of old school songwriting and electronic sentiment. You can preview and buy her tracks off of CDBaby for digital download. Her CD release party is set to go down Saturday, July 17 at the Hotel Cafe in Hollywood. If you’re in the Los Angeles area and want to check some great local acts, go to her facebook event page to RSVP.

Alex Wong Eliminated from SYTYCD due to injury

Alex Wong

This is unfortunate news, but according to several reports, Alex Wong has been eliminated from So You Think You can Dance Season 7 due to an Achilles tendon injury that he suffered during the competition. Wong was injured Tuesday night during his final rehearsal of his Bollywood number and required surgery. It hurts to see someone who had a chance to win it all leave the show this way, but we wish him well.

You can check out his amazing hip-hop routine that Alex performed last week here.

Shot in a very peaceful, elegant, and forest-like setting, Justin’s vocals perfectly complement the style and vibe of the environment around him. You can also check out behind the scenes footage below.
