The Good Life by Paul Dateh & Ken Belcher EPK

Since first appearing on the music scene two years ago, singer and violinist Paul Dateh has gone on to garner millions of views on the web as well as national exposure on television and in print. Now, Dateh has teamed up with guitarist Ken Belcher to create The Good Life a concept record that offers a fresh and original take on acoustic urban folk music.

The Good Life is a seven-song EP that follows the life of a man living out his adulthood. Classic, well-known stories of finding happiness in each moment and the search for love are presented in new ways with Dateh’s pure voice and lush string harmonies filling in the lines while Belcher punctuates each sentence with the soulful strumming of guitar.

Being fully trained in both Classical and Jazz styles, Paul Dateh & Ken Belchers influences are extremely diverse. Some of their influences include Bela Fleck, Stephane Grappelli, Alan & Marilyn Bergman, Stevie Wonder, and The Clientele.

Jackie Chan on Ellen and Conan

Jackie Chan is making the rounds on the talk show circuit for his upcoming movie “The Spy Next Door” (You can get free swag here) and lands on both Ellen & Conan. (BTW – He virtually says nothing about the movie in his interviews.) He really wants to shift away from his action star/ martial arts image. On Ellen, he showed how hard it is for him to call 411 (we didn’t really like that segment), but he also showed his singing skills. Over at Conan, he tells an entertaining story from his past, show his romantic side, demonstrates Conan the drunken style fighting.

Hollywood has typecast him already. It’s going to be hard to change that, but props for him trying to remake himself. As he gets older, doing his choreography and stunts will be harder. Jackie realizes this as he’s dabbling in clothing lines, singing, “I Am Jackie Chan” musical. Who knows we may see him in a romantic comedy.

Midnight Medley with Passion and Leejay

Interesting collabo with two out of 3 members of GLP. Passion and Leejay put togther a late night medley of these songs:

• Robin Thicke – Wanna Love U Girl

• Michael Jackson – Thriller

• Luther Vandross – Never Too Much

• D’Angelo – Untitled (How Does It Feel)

• Ne-Yo – Do You

It’s Passion on vocals & keyboard and Leejay as the vocal percussionist. Not bad for 4 hours of composition, rehearsal, and recording.
