Parallel Adele

If you missed the short documentary “Parallel Adele” during it’s film festival run, you can see it online now. Check out this 15 minute short. Here’s a synopsis:

Two half Vietnamese documentary filmmakers, both named Adele (Adele Pham and Adele Ray), weave a shared narrative of mixed Asian (HAPA) experiences through interviews with 7 other mixed race subjects. History, memory, and anecdotes on multiracial ethnicity are represented through archival images, super 8 film, verité, and interview.

Parallel Adele has screened at 13 festivals, including the SF Int’l Asian American Film Festival, Wesleyan, NYU, and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC. For a lighter side of being HAPA, check out On the Clock – Episode 2.

Steve Byrne on The Jay Leno Show

Steve Byrne made a guest appearance on The Jay Leno Show doing his comedy routine. He pokes fun at relationships and differences between men and women. His jokes about GPS navigation and Doc’s prescription for the seven dwarfs cracked us up.

Look for a new comedy special “The Byrne Identity” from Steve in early 2010 on Comedy Central. His last special “Happy Hour” is available on Amazon.
