Over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, PSY’s Gangnam Style music video has become the most viewed video on YouTube of all time. He just dethroned Justin Bieber’s Baby to become king of the YouTube videos by several million views. The gap is expected to widen and Gangnam Style could be the first video on YouTube to hit the 1 billion view mark. The video from the international phenomenon was only released July 12, 2012. (Justin Bieber’s Baby was released February 19, 2010.) In three and a half months since its launch, he has managed to capture the hearts and charts of fans around the world. Although his song is in Korean, his humor in the video transcends all language barriers. Many fans have made parodies (Canton Style, Lo Pan Style, Gangnam Style by Just Kidding Films, Byuntae Style by David So, and K-Town style.) and a few big names like Madonna and MC Hammer have collaborated with him on stage, and his dance move are in the video game Just Dance 4. With momentum on his side, will PSY be able to break the 1 billion view mark on YouTube?
