Hosted by chef Cathlyn Choi, Cathlyn’s Korean Kitchen produced in full HD, showcases delicious, nutritious and easy to make Korean cuisines featuring both traditional and fusion ingredients as well as exploring the many cultural aspects of Korean foods. Cathlyn’s special guests Woody, the Liquid Chef and Dr. Dia add their own fun to the shows Korean ingredients! Cathlyn’s passion for her native Korean foods called “Hansik” has led her to become one of the most recognized celebrity chefs in the world.
Born in Vietnam to Korean parents and having lived in South East Asia and Korean for over 30 years has taught Cathlyn to appreciate many different Asian foods and cultures. Taught the traditional Korean way of cooking from her grandmother and mother, Cathlyn incorporates her different ingredients and flavors into her unique Korean cooking techniques to develop her own style of traditional and fusion Korean recipes. You can expect to see some of these recipes prepared during Season 4.
Unofficially dubbed the “Korean Food Ambassador”, Cathlym has also been recognized by the South Korean Government for the efforts to promote Korean foods in the US through her cooking show and live cooking demonstrations.

Since age 11, Cathlyn developed a passion and sense for cooking by watching her mother and grandmother cook. At age 13, she also helped her parents with their catering business in Brunei for 5 years. Cathlyn acquired a sophisticated palate through years of living and traveling throughout Asia and other European countries, sampling and cooking various kinds of cuisines. Since then, Cathlyn has developed over a thousand traditional Korean and fusion recipes.
In February 2009, with the help of her husband and co-producer Eric Michelson, the first Korean cooking show in the US was launched on a local TV station in San Diego. Then in September of 2009, Cathlyn signed a contract to launch Season 2 of Cathlyn’s Korean Kitchen nationwide in November. Season 3 entitled Cathlyn’s Korean Food Challenge was launched in 2011. Cathlyn’s Korean Kitchen Season 4 is scheduled to air on national PBS in fall of 2012. All the background music on Cathlyn’s cooking show are originally composed, arranged and/or performed by Cathlyn.
