Rapper XL Middleton takes it back to the classic sound of 80’s boogie funk mixed with hip hop on his single “You Can’t Train Me” off his Hedonistic album. Along with guest vocalist Moniquea, he wages the ultimate battle of the sexes in this tongue-in-cheek visual, inspired by classic 80’s movies and sitcoms. In the video both XL Middleton and Moniquea live in the same household, they each want to change each other, but unwilling to change themselves. Things get out of control when they start to “borrow” things from one another. The uptempo “You Can’t Train Me (feat. Moniquea)” sports a slick brass and synth bass loop that would have made Morris Day proud.
