It was a happy VaLINtine’s Day for Jeremy Lin last night as he led the New York Knicks to their sixth straight win. The latest victim of LIN-sanity was the Toronto Raptors. While not performing at his top level, Lin fought through a rough night by shooting 9-for-20 and 7-for-11 at the free throw line. During the first half, he had a rough time with Jose Calderon and turning the ball over 5 times. nonetheless, that didn’t stop him as he continued to persevere and kept attacking the basket. Jeremy Lin ended the night with a double-double (27 points with 11 assists).
By far, the most memorable moment in the game was Lin’s game winning shot. He drained a three pointer with 9 seconds left on the clock to push the Knicks past the Raptors 90-87. Lin stated, “I can’t even tell you what I was thinking after that last shot. I couldn’t talk more about a team win and what a gutsy effort this was tonight.” And on having the ball at the end of the game, “I’m not really thinking too much about that, thankful my coach and my teammates trust me with the ball at the end of the game. I like having it at the end of the game, I’m just very thankful.”
The continuing LIN-sanity and his performance last week landed him on the cover of Sports Illustrated along with getting him named Eastern Conference player of the Week. Jeremy Lin gets started on another explosive week. If he’s still available in your fantasy league, he won’t be available much longer.
