Actress Amy Rider (The Secret Life of the American Teenager) takes a stab at directing in her new web series “The Monogamy Experiment”. It’s a hilarious and light hearted exploration of dating and open relationships, and has elements of Asian American culture. The hybrid mockumentary/documentary series was shot within a tight knit group of friends and sprinkled with appearances by friends/cast from TV shows: “Charmed”, “The Big Bang Theory”, “Secret Life Of the American Teenager”, “Heroes”, and more. Here’s a synopsis:

A too-young-to-marry couple (Amy Rider & Nigel Behari) decide to make a documentary to discover whether we’re biologically monogamous or not before heading to the altar. They end up on a 30-day open relationship experiment…

Not only is Amy Rider directing the webseries, but she also stars in it. Other Asian American talent schedules include Tohoru Masamune (Inception), James Kyson-Lee (Heroes), Gina Hiraizumi, Allen Evangelista (Secret Life), and others.

In the first episode “Your Sex Is On Fire”, Amy and Nigel try to get an appointment with Dr. Jouda for much needed therapy.
