For the 2011 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, a short called “EASTER BUNNY” was adapted from the feature film script YEAR OF THE BUNNY. Usually shorts are adapted into features, but the director wanted to do things differently. In an effort to garner attention for the feature script (which is based in Hong Kong), he wrote a piece with similar tone, emotion and humor based in Los Angeles hitting places like the LA Metro, MacArthur Park and downtown LA. Here’s more on Easter Bunny:
EASTER BUNNY is about Franklin, a heart broken man who taked a day trip into LA with his stuffed animal Bunny. When he loses his longtime friend, he gets help from a pair of Hispanic Angelinos in the search for Bunny. From MacArthur Park to K-Town to Pershing Square, Franklin searches LA discouraged and hopeless. WIll he get precious Bunny back?
