On the Daily Show, Olivia Munn tackled the topic of parenting from Amy Chua’s book “Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mom“. She interviews her own mother as they reminisce about chopstick hits and a head dent in the refrigerator through tiger mom parenting. After speaking with several experts, she concludes that Tiger Mothering is the best. Tiger Mom puts the fear into Olivia Munn and made her the success she is today.

I guess tiger mom means in media = Asian mom an white dad?another social slap in face for Asian men
I remember reading about her saying she does not date Asian men. She has dated white and black men, but not Asian men. It’s not unusual — she is half-Asian; her mom is Chinese who married a white man.
Olivia Munn is not the only Hapa ladies who do not date Asian men. The daughters of Asian women-White men couples almost *never* date Asian men. You may think it’s unfair, but hey, what can you do about it? You can’t force women to date someone.
I just don’t know if it’s a good idea to use such a woman as a representation of Asian Americans.
Munn’s mother is obviously Vietnamese. Get your races right before you accuse someone of being racist yourself, doofus.
not hard to google facts guys :”Lisa Olivia Munn was born in Oklahoma. She is of Chinese descent on her mother’s side (though her mother was raised in Vietnam)[4] and of German and Irish descent on her father’s.[5] When Munn was two, her mother re-married, this time to a man in the United States Air Force.”
With that out of the way, I agree that she is not the most ideal rep of Asian Americans. I am half Asian and half white, raised by my white father. I adore my father, but refuse to date non-Asian men, as my experiences venturing out of the Asian dating circle were horrible ( and it wasn’t just bc I was looked at like a souvenier, which is repulsive). I choose to spend my life with my Asian man because he has all of the same values and moral that I desire in a man because he was raised in a traditional Chinese household.
P.S. I definitely do not feel comfortable with Olivia Munn representing my culture!
“Munn’s mother is obviously Vietnamese. Get your races right before you accuse someone of being racist yourself, doofus.”
Vietnamese is not a race and it was not obvious she is vietnamese. maybe it is to you becuase you are a vietnamese, but to other, no one can tell and vietnamese from a chinese
