October is going to be a huge month for afterschoolspecial. They’ve got a lot of big releases at the end of the month. First up is their new full length album “It’s All in Your Head,” which featuring 11 tracks. IT’S ALL IN YOUR HEAD, is a message that all the disturbances, distractions, excuses, pressure, and struggle that we all feel is ALL IN OUR HEAD. It’s once we realize this and find methods to get beyond, that’s when we can truly create, learn, and grow. The album gets inside the heads of the band members and uses the sometimes dark and scattered thoughts in a more positive constructive manner, making music. Next they’re collaborating with Wong Fu Productions and Paul Dateh for a music video for their track NAME. channelAPA.com got the scoop earlier this year from afterschoolspecial about the collabo. Look for a major release party in San Diego on October 29, 2010 along with T-shirt and condom releases. afterschoolspecial is gonna rock that stage.

update: The 11 tracks on the album is a mix of rock, rap, folk, and soul. afterschoolspecial has collaborated with some very talented people in the community as guest musicians on the album. Artists that the band has looked up to and shared stages with in the past are featured on multiple tracks. This includes:

Derek Kan of Magnetic North + Taiyo Na are featured on the track BE
Paul Dateh are featured on the track NAME
Pigeon John, Dumbfoundead, Traphik (aka Timothy Delaghetto), Bart and Jo of Just Kidding Films, Verseatile, and IZ (454 Life Entertainment) are featured on the track FR*A (Future rockstars of America)
