What would you do with a blank canvas? Artist James Jean plays a dual role in Canvas by Mora Stephens. (The short reminds us of Dirty Hands: The Art & Crimes of David Choe.)
Here’s a statement by Mora Stephens about the short:
I’m a huge fan of James Jean’s work so it was a thrill to be able to collaborate with him on this. Watching James through his process, starting from a blank canvas — and to see him paint in the styles of the two different characters — it was hard not to geek out just a little.
You have a chance to create your own work on a blank canvas through the Interpretations Film Initiative. Deadline for submissions have been extended to September 15, 2010. There is no submission fee.
