Brooklyn indie rockers, Audio Fiction’s new music video for Race the Hourglass is created entirely of Rock Band life like avatars of themselves, right down to the Audio Fiction logo on the bass drum. The band made the debut launch on Harmonix’s Rock Band Network back in March and released the video days ago. Audio Fiction has directed all their own music videos at close to zero cost by making creative decisions on how best to approach making them within a tiny budget. (Also see the music video Way Out.) The band’s bassist, Darren Korb actually created the video, assisted by drummer Mark O’Toole. Each of the band member avatars were created to look like each of the real band members. The bassist also authored the song in Rock Band.
Outside of the bassist, the band has internally debated whether they could actually score 100% in expert mode. The band plays The Studio – Webster Hall, NYC this Thursday June 17th 9pm. Look for guitarist Charles Park in the video and in person.
