In case, you missed it on Friday, here’s the 2010 Spelling Bee champion Anamika Veeramani. She won the competition with the final word “stromuhr”. Everyone before her missed their word and she got her word correct. The 14-year-old eighth grader from Ohio took the trophy along with more than $40,000 in cash and prizes. She also became the third consecutive Indian-American bee champion. Last year, Kavya Shivashankar picked up the win.

Anamika’s passions include reading, writing, photography and painting. She takes private lessons in Indian classical dance and golf. Anamika has been studying Indian classical music for eight years, and has played the violin for six years. She is a member of her school’s orchestra, and she also enjoys swimming. Anamika is very interested in science and she has participated in science fairs at which her research projects have earned several awards. She aspires to become a cardiovascular surgeon, an author and a screenwriter. Anamika tied for fifth place in the 2009 Scripps National Spelling Bee.
