The panel of judges, which included music video and documentary film director Todd Angkasuwan (music videos for Snoop Dogg, Far East Movement & many more), producer Philip Lam (Santa Mesa & Undoing) and Cliff Song, representing sponsor HBO, selected “Flying Away to the Movies” as the winner. You might need to view the video several times since you’ll see new things every time you watch it. Here’s a synopsis:

A young boy leaves his static television world and follows a flying film reel, taking a journey to find inspiration in movies at Philadelphia’s very own Chinatown Arch where the opening night film of the festival is about to begin.

The festival runs from October 9-11, 2009. The PAAFF lineup has some of the hottest Asian American films on the festival circuit this year.
