If watch CNBC, you’ll be familiar with anchor Melissa Lee, host of “Fast Money” and “Options Action”. She’ll be hosting a new CNBC original production “Porn: Business of Pleasure”. Nothing is off limits when it comes to the controversial multi-billion dollar industry that aims to please but has been known to offend.
The porn industry has changed technology and can be found in millions of homes, hotel rooms and hard drives across the country. BUT, the business is facing economic challenges. It’s under assault and not just from the many critics who see it as socially corroding, degrading to women and a risk to the young.
The documentary preview has already caused one major advertiser, Charles Schwab, to pull sponsorship from “Fast Money” after a preview implied a connection between Schwab and the network’s Porn: Business of Pleasure.
We’d rather see more hard hitting reporting on why gas prices shot up to $4 last year or why there was so much leverage on Wall Street than having CNBC delve into the porn industry.
