HBO’s special Pacquiao Hatton 24/7 led up to last night’s Manny Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton fight. Manny Pacquiao pulverized Ricky Hatton in front of a sellout crowd of 16,262 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and an HBO Pay-Per-View audience. Pacquiao landed multiple right hooks to the face of Hatton in the first round. Hatton’s face was vey red by the middle of the round and he kept clinching Pacquiao. Pacquiao sent the Hatton to the canvas twice in the round. He almost knocked out Hatton at the end of round one with a flurry of punches.
In the second round, the brutal assault continued with a left hook by Pacquiao landed on Hatton’s chin dropping him on his back with seconds remaining in the round. Ricky Hatton was clearly knocked unconscious. He was on the canvas for a long time. Add this fight to the list of Manny Pacquiao’s Greatest Hits. Reviewing the stat lines Pacquiao landed 73 of 127 punches (57%) vs Hatton landing 18 of 78 (27%). That’s completely lopsided. Pacquiao’s accuracy is deadly and once again his speed kills.
